Sisters have always been interested in realistic human gesture. The magic of certain personalities inspires them to create images. Before making a portrait of the doll, they research the biography, read interviews, gathered photos and videos. Because of this interest, they deepened knowledge of human anatomy and facial gesture.
Popovy SISTERS – is a unique technology combined with art, developed over the years of hard work and priceless experience.
Each doll is custom made and hand painted. Removable wigs are made with unique technique so they are very strong and hold fast to the head. Sisters use high-quality materials to make them: Japanese silk, metal, and natural Lama wool. They use top quality fabrics from France, Italy, and Japan, as well as antique laces, to make outfits, shoes, and accessories. That’s why all items are limited editions. Also, they use Swarovski crystals and metal.
Each doll is handmade and unique, made with huge attention to details. Sisters continue to explore and experiment with new techniques and materials. It all takes a lot of time.
Their future plan is to expand prototype range! There are many new collections to come.
